Assembly Grade 7A, 2024-2025
The Grade 7A class assembly, titled “Dance Through Time,” was a vibrant 20-minute performance showcasing dance’s history and evolution across various decades. Yet again, our students took to the stage and presented performances with aplomb.
The storyline follows two grandfathers who, with the help of young scientists, travel through time using a fictional time machine. Each era, from the 1920s Charleston to the modern TikTok dance trends, was brought to life through engaging and energetic performances by the students. Each and every student contributed meaningfully to the narrative with their powerful delivery and the dance performances. The script ensured active participation, teamwork, and a spirit of collective fun.
The assembly featured iconic dance styles such as the Twist, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Disco, Macarena, Moonwalk, Hip Hop and fusion styles, demonstrating how each generation has added its unique flair to the world of dance. Interactive elements added depth to the program, including a news segment with recent global dance-related updates. A dance-themed quiz engaged the audience further, with students answering questions about famous dance moves and their origins.
The assembly concluded with a “Thought for the Day,” highlighting dance as a universal form of expression that transcends time and age. This was followed by a fun-filled group performance of “Baby Shark” and a heartfelt vote of thanks. The class assembly was a resounding success, blending history, humour, music, and dance into an unforgettable experience. It captivated the audience and provided the students with a memorable opportunity to showcase their creativity and teamwork, fostering a deeper appreciation for the art of dance.
