Community Service, January 2020

On the morning of January 9th, Senior students executed the initiative they had taken to clean the surrounding area off debris, garbage and bring in Swachhta in tune with the Government’s initiative of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ towards ‘Swachh Bharat’.

Special brooms, rakes, masks, gloves were provided to encourage the students in their service. After a two and a half hour ‘Shramdaan’, students felt a glow of satisfaction. They were careful to see no harm came to the young trees that had been planted a year ago. In their process of cleaning, students communicated they had segregated the non-degradable waste from the bio-degradable ones. They noticed wastes of different kinds from plastics to automotive scraps, glass bottles to sanitary waste.

They gathered the dry leaves and other bio waste into separate baskets.

Subsequent to this the school ensured the bio degradable waste went into a compost pit soon to be recycled, made into rich manure and sent back into nature.
