Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated with both pomp and devotion.
This celebration of Lord Ganesha was evident as the children enthusiastically fashioned Ganesha of different sizes from diverse materials. Sculpting Ganeshas out of mud and dough or crafting from paper cups, and then devising moveable trunks or the bobble-headed Ganeshas from coconut shells were but a few activities that brought joy and added colour to the fervour and excitement in their learning. The Ganeshas shaped were artistically decorated and the pride in their creation added to the success of the celebration. A short discussion on the traditions and significance of the festival added to the festive atmosphere.
