Grade 8D Assembly
On the morning of August 12th, 2025, the students of Grade 8D presented a vibrant and thought-provoking assembly on the theme “India Then and Now.”
The morning began with a warm Opening Address that welcomed the audience and set the tone for a journey across India’s past, present, and aspirations for the future. The emcees introduced the theme, highlighting India’s progress while holding on to its cultural roots.
The assembly opened with a theatrical skit titled “The Remote of Time”, which cleverly linked various segments of the program through a magical remote that transported the characters to different eras. With the help of a broken remote, the audience travelled back and forth to the past and present.
The first stop was a dance sequence, where classical forms such as Bharatnatyam showcased India’s traditional grace, followed by a lively fusion performance representing contemporary creativity.
Next came the News Segment, contrasting the poised delivery of 1947 All India Radio broadcasters –Pratima Puri and Saeeda Bano, the first ever female newsreader and newscaster of Indi – with the dynamic style of 2025’s multimedia news anchors, covering everything from historic milestones to technological achievements.
This was followed by an engaging Quiz Show, where students from Grades 6–8, as well as parents, participated in answering questions about India’s history, culture, and modern achievements.
The program then transitioned into the Thought for the Day, featuring inspiring words from Mahatma Gandhi and a reminder that every action contributes to shaping the India of tomorrow.
The morning concluded with the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the guidance of the Associate Principals, the enthusiasm of the audience, and the hard work of students, teachers and support staff, both on stage and behind the scenes.
Finally, the Closing Address reflected on the assembly’s meaningful journey and encouraged everyone to remain curious about the past, confident in the present, and courageous for the future.
The Grade 8D assembly was a perfect blend of performance, information, and patriotism, leaving the audience inspired and proud to be part of India’s continuing story.
