GMC Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations 2024
This year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebration truly embodied commitment. A key highlight was the environments were beautifully decorated, featuring Ganesha-themed art, thoranams at the entrances, and lamp art. Each environment organised age-appropriate, hands-on activities for festive occasion.
The children were actively involved in various craft-making projects during the week leading up to the celebration. Dedicated spaces within the classrooms were set up for these creative activities.
The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration was a holistic cultural experience. On the festival day, children and adults came beautifully dressed in their traditional attire. Teachers discussed the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi, and children listened as their teachers spoke about the life and teachings of Lord Ganesha.
A particularly memorable part of the day was when children from all environments were taken in groups to visit the beautifully adorned Ganesh idol at the school reception. This moment was filled with reverence as the children, sitting together sang songs in unison.
By the close of the week, the children had not only created beautiful Ganesha-themed crafts but had also deepened their cultural experience and significance. As they left to go home, their hands were filled with the crafts they had lovingly made throughout the week, and their minds enriched with timeless memories of the day.
