Independence Day 2024

The Independence Day celebration at NPSIC was a spirited event that vividly expressed national pride and community spirit. The school's quadrangle was elegantly adorned with a myriad of tricolour decorations, including flags, bunting, and floral arrangements. The entire area was transformed into a vibrant display of saffron, white, and green. The atmosphere was brimming with patriotic fervour, as students and faculty, came together to participate in a range of activities that honoured the nation's heritage and fostered a deep sense of unity and pride.

Students from Grades 3 to 12 gathered in the quadrangle, all dressed in traditional white attire. Their coordinated outfits, accented by national flag pins, formed a striking and unified visual tribute to the nation’s independence. The ceremony commenced with our Principal, Ms. Sudha Balan hoisting the national flag accompanied by a salute and followed by the rendition of the Flag Song. This poignant moment fostered a profound sense of patriotism among all. The inspiring speech by the Principal highlighted our country’s significant achievements and its unique spot in the global map.

Vocal renditions by the students of Grades 6 to 8 including songs such as ‘Bharata Desha Hitaya’ and ‘Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain’ added to the patrotic fervour. Hindi and Tamil faculty presented powerful speeches to recognise the sacrifices of the past and hopes for the future.

To elevate the celebratory spirit, senior students painted national flags on each child’s hand, while teachers also participated by decorating their faces and hands with small flags. This added a joyful yet significant touch to the festivities.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, various co-curricular competitions were held to encourage creativity among students including drawing and colouring, doodle art, junk art and pencil sketch.

Distribution of sweets marked the end of a joyful day for the students and faculty. The meticulously organized activities, the enthusiastic engagement of the school community, and the heartfelt expressions of patriotism and creativity made the occasion both memorable and meaningful.
