Grade 9-A Assembly, August 2022


Students of Grade 9 A had their assembly on the 8th of August. The theme chosen was ambition and passion. The children chose to pay their respects to the former President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, whose vision and acumen put India on the map for space research.

The assembly began with imaginary an interview with the former President. Reporters questioned him about his early days and his struggle to put India’s Space Mission on the map. The childhood incidents and the launch of India’s first rocket was encapsulated in the form of a play. Children enacted the role of The President and his fellow scientists. The skit also highlighted the difficulties that were encountered in the very first rocket launch.

A song which focused on the glory of our country was sung mellifluously by the students. The dance, a medley of two songs showcased the flexibility and grace of the dancers. Both were well received by the audience.

The National, international and local news was read out. A pertinent thought for the day was shared along with a weather update. A quiz for the audience was conducted at the end to test the knowledge of the audience. The questions ranged from sports, entertainment to politics. The audience’s response was encouraging.

The assembly ended with the students thanking the Principal , for giving them this opportunity to showcase their talents. They also thanked the support staff for all their help.
