Grade 5D Assembly
Freedom is not a Luxury, it is a Right
The Grade 5D students presented their class assembly on the theme “Freedom is not a luxury. It is a right.” with great enthusiasm and confidence.
The assembly began with a warm welcome by the Masters of Ceremony, who introduced the theme by emphasizing that freedom is about living with dignity, respect, and courage. This was followed by the Thought for the Day, where students shared an inspiring message: “Freedom is not the absence of walls, but the presence of wings — the courage to rise, to explore, and to be truly yourself.” The meaning was beautifully explained, linking freedom with courage and self-belief.
Students then presented the News Report, covering National, International, Sports, Local (Chennai), and Weather updates, ensuring that the audience was kept informed of current happenings. This was followed by a segment on Inspirational Facts, where children highlighted the contributions of freedom fighters and celebrated the achievements of Indian women Army officers and soldiers. Their powerful messages of courage, determination, and leadership were met with admiration.
A patriotic group performance of the song “Is Duniya Me Bharat Jaisa Desh Kaha Hai” charged the atmosphere with energy and pride.
The highlight of the assembly was the skit titled “The Caged Lion’s Roar.” Enacted with music, voiceovers, and dramatic performances, the skit narrated the story of a lion cub longing for freedom. Its powerful message—that true freedom is more valuable than golden comforts—was conveyed poignantly. The emotional climax, where the cub was finally set free, deeply touched the audience.
Adding vibrancy and joy to the program were energetic dance performances, which showcased the students’ rhythm, coordination, and enthusiasm. The assembly also included an engaging quiz on freedom, explorers, scientists, and the day’s theme. Students from different classes participated eagerly, making the session interactive and enjoyable.
Towards the end, students delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Associate Principals, teachers, support staff, parents, and friends for their encouragement and support. The program concluded with a powerful reflection: freedom is the song of life, and it must be respected not only for humans but also for animals and nature.
Overall, the Grade 5D assembly was informative, inspiring, and entertaining. It reflected the hard work of the students and the thoughtful guidance of their teachers. With the seamless integration of speeches, music, drama, and dance, the assembly successfully conveyed its central theme: Freedom is not a luxury—it is a right.
