Assembly: Grade 3 D
School assemblies at NPSI are the first of many moments where students across classes come together to celebrate, learn and grow together. While one class performs and presents acts tailored to a theme, the audience cheers and encourages them in a learning environment that is kind, encouraging and empathetic.
The students of 3D presented their assembly on the topic, Respect. Dressed in bright yellow apparel, the presenters were beaming as they came forward to present. The MCs started the show by welcoming the audience and taking them through the acts planned.
Several thoughts and quotes were shared with the audience highlighting various perspectives to respect. From Herbert Henry’s words on respecting other’s opinions to Dalai Lama’s 3Rs (Respect for self, respect for others and responsibility for actions), these pearls of wisdom set the tone for the assembly.
Respect is a value that transcends age, time and circumstances. At all times, one must be respectful. It can mean accepting someone for they are. It can mean respect for the environment. The meaning of respect and what it entails was beautifully explained through a group music performance on the Respect song. The words were lucid and the actions exhibited by the children grabbed the attention of the audience.
News anchors shared updates of the happenings around us with International News, National News, State News and Sports News. ‘Let’s laugh out Loud’ brought in peals of laughter as the presenters shared some jokes that both students and teachers appreciated.
The highlight of the assembly was a thought-provoking skit about an athletic boy who realizes that winning the hearts of people is the greatest value an individual can earn. The importance of respect, both for oneself and for others was clearly demonstrated. As always, the quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from the audience. The questions were asked in the form of riddles and it was truly enjoyable to see the children attempting to crack these seemingly simple riddles.
The assembly ended with the vote of thanks. The entire journey towards this class assembly was filled with learning for the children. They learnt to respect each other’s opinions, work together and towards a common aim. For the audience, it was an enjoyable show which reiterated the importance of the timeless value, respect.
