Children's Day 2024
Children’s Day celebration at NPSI was a lively and enjoyable event, highlighting the energy and enthusiasm of the students. The program began with a warm welcome from the emcees, setting a positive tone for the day. Teachers performed an Invocation Song, filling the air with a sense of calmness.
Following this, the Principal, Ms. Sudha Balan, shared a thoughtful video message, offering her well wishes. She shared her enthusiasm for the activities planned for the day and acknowledged that teachers had worked hard to ensure a memorable day ahead for the children.
She also shared her thoughts on childhood. Through the quote, “Childhood is a beautiful journey,” she reminded students of the impact they have on others; to remain kind and make everyone around them happy and to be happy themselves.
The Vice-Principals, Ms. Ranjani and Ms. Radhika, also addressed the gathering, making the students feel appreciated and excited for the celebrations ahead. They touched upon the three things teachers love about students and what we learn from them – their innocence, strong bond with their friends, their passion for various activities that encourage “me time”. They reiterated how students impact lives of those around them with their laughter, questions and anecdotes. The teachers took centre stage with a variety of entertaining performances. The teachers of Grades 1 and 2 kicked off with an adorable dance that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The teachers of Grades 3 to 5 showcased “Dance Through the Ages,” bringing to life the evolution of dance. The Middle Years teachers impressed the audience, singing a medley of songs and performing “Fusion Dance”, blending the traditional with the modern. A comical and energetic dance on the song “SuperTuna”, from the middle year teachers, hyped up the audience.
The Department of Tamil brought to life iconic scenes from classic movies. They dressed up as famous actors and made the audience laugh out loud with their comedic portrayals. Thundering applause reverberated the room as the teachers played out these funny pieces on stages.
There were also some interactive segments that kept everyone engaged. The Senior Year teachers hosted a fun Game Show that encouraged the audience to guess the actions of the characters on stage. Teachers dressed up as contestants and put their heart on their sleeves as they played a version of dumb charades. The Western Musical Quiz set out to test the audience’s knowledge of music. The songs played ranged from timely classics to recent releases, and students enthusiastically took to the stage to sing their hearts out. The event quickly turned into a karaoke session.
The Vote of Thanks acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved and expressed gratitude for heir their contributions. The event ended on a warm note with a thank-you speech from the School Prefect, who expressed her appreciation for the teachers, participants, and attendees, making the celebration memorable for all.
The event left an indelible mark in everyone’s hearts and it turned out to be a memorable day.
