Grade 2 Field Trip - Shell Museum
On 12th September, 93 students from Grade 2 embarked on an exciting field trip to the Shell Museum in Mahabalipuram. Upon arrival, they first enjoyed their snacks before being guided into the museum.
Inside, the students were captivated by the stunning variety of shells on display and the intricate statues crafted entirely from shells. Notable exhibits included a replica of the Singapore Merlion made from white shells and a model of the Singapore Garden Bay. The visit also included a tour of the Pearl Museum, where pearls were showcased with detailed information about their names and origins, providing an enriching learning experience.
The students were thrilled to explore and learn about different types of shells, pearls, underwater sea creatures, ships, and various anchors used throughout history. The final highlight of the trip was a visit to the Dinosaur Park, where the children excitedly marveled at the life-like dinosaur models on display.
Overall, the trip was both educational and memorable, leaving the students amazed by the museum’s beauty and excited by everything they had discovered.
