Heart of the Matter
At NPSI, we are committed to the wellbeing of all our students. Our singular focus is to provide an inclusive environment which is safe, supportive and respectful.
Our pastoral care framework begins with class teachers who are the first point of contact. Class teachers nurture and address the immediate emotional and social needs of the children in a kind and empathetic manner.
The counselling cell consists of highly qualified and well-experienced counsellors available throughout school hours for every student, to cater to their emotional and social well-being. They work with teachers and parents to provide appropriate support, enabling students to cope, deal with and overcome issues that come their way.
Several programmes have been adopted to help students self-regulate emotions, help in tolerance, inclusiveness, strengthen peer bonding and understanding. An empathetic and understanding culture combined with well-defined norms and routines creates an environment of comfort and security for our students.
The interest inventory adopted at the beginning of the year provides valuable information on students’ interests, strengths and needs. The buddy system for new comers, BIS ( behavioural intervention sessions), RRR ( Recognize, Reward, Repeat ) are all aimed towards creating a caring environment.
Periodic feedback obtained in the senior grades helps to provide support that maybe required. They are enabled to create smart study plans, manage their time and prioritise tasks.
Career Counselling cell along with experts in the field assist students make the right choices in their tertiary education and subsequently their career.
Parents are an integral part of the school community. Periodic meetings, invitations to various events, and parent outreach are the norms here.
“A joyful beginning to the day”, is a special beginning to the day which is adopted in the younger classes, to resonate this feeling through the day.
