Assembly Grade 8C, 2023-2024
Topic: Lunch and Learn
A good lunch break in a school is essential and should ideally focus on meeting the physical, social, and emotional needs of students while maximizing their opportunities for growth and development.
The class assembly of grade 8C predominately highlighted the importance of nutritious meal options that support students' overall health and well-being. This has opened opportunities for students to learn about the importance of healthy eating habits and informed decisions on food choices, creating environments that facilitate meaningful interactions. It also ensured adequate supervision to maintain a safe and orderly lunchtime.
The assembly also established clear guidelines for lunch breaks that help avoid food spills, bullying, or conflicts that ensure all students feel safe and included. The aim is to foster a culture of inclusivity and respect, where every student feels valued and accepted.
It also provided opportunities for students to explore new interests, and hobbies and promote a culture of lifelong learning and curiosity beyond the classroom. By prioritizing the above, schools can create lunch break experiences that are not only enjoyable but also beneficial for the holistic development of students.
