Assembly Grade 5C, 2024-2025
A sound mind in a sound body! The assembly presented by the students of grade 5 C revolved around the theme "Well-being: Yoga and Outdoor Games". The event was designed to emphasize the importance of maintaining both physical and mental health through various activities, and it was filled with various performances and insightful messages from the students.
The assembly began with students highlighting the significance of well-being, particularly through the practice of yoga which offers a versatile and effective way to enhance overall well-being and outdoor games which provides a well-rounded way to enhance both physical and mental health.
Two yoga asanas—Tadasana and Triyak Tadasana were demonstrated by students. These poses were selected for their simplicity and effectiveness in promoting physical stability and flexibility. Additionally, the students demonstrated jump rope exercises, reinforcing the idea that outdoor activities are vital for staying fit, healthy and happy.
A spiritual aspect was introduced to the assembly through the ‘Thought of the Day,’ featuring a quote from the Bhagavad Gita. This offered a moment for reflection and linked the physical practice of yoga to profound spiritual principles.
Following this, an engaging conversation about cricket captivated the audience, delving into the excitement of the sport, the strategic plays, and the teamwork involved. It served as a vivid reminder of the joy, camaraderie, and shared enthusiasm that outdoor games like cricket bring, celebrating not just the physical activity, but also the spirit of unity and sportsmanship they foster.
The assembly continued with a song celebrating friendship, which further emphasized the theme of well-being through strong social connections. The students then performed a unique dance that incorporated yoga moves, blending creativity with physical exercise. This performance showcased the versatility of yoga and how it can be integrated into various forms of expression.
A standout moment of the event was the "Brain Break" activity, where ten children participated in dynamic movements like spinning, jumping, and cheer claps. This activity was aimed at re-energizing both the students and the audience, showcasing how brief bursts of physical activity can invigorate both mind and body.
The assembly wrapped up with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Principal Ma'am, the Vice Principals, the teachers, the support staff, and the audience. The theme and manner of execution was appreciated by all.
