Assembly Grade 5D, 2024-2025
At NPSI, each class assembly is a special occasion, and Grade 5D’s presentation on "Vasudhaiva Kudumbakkam" was no exception. The theme for assembly was thoughtfully selected after a thorough brainstorming session between the teacher and students, ensuring a balance between the children’s preferences and the school's overarching vision.
Through speeches, cultural performances, and interactive segments, the students demonstrated a profound understanding of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" and its significance in fostering a harmonious, inclusive, and peaceful world.
To showcase how various cultures align with this philosophy, students recited couplets and poems from ancient texts for Thought of the Day’. This included a Thirukkural that reflected the empathy and understanding of shared human suffering; a Doha by Kabir, emphasizing the humility and equality of all creation; and a French poem promoting unity, wisdom, and love as the path to global harmony.
A highlight of the assembly was the dance performance. The choreography, filled with grace and energy, symbolized unity, harmony, and the collective spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam." As the music flowed, the audience was taken on a journey through movements that reflected peace, togetherness, and shared joy.
Through a theatre tableaux, a practical and solution-oriented segment, students proposed ways to incorporate the philosophy into modern life. Each suggestion was rooted in current global challenges, showing the students’ awareness and desire to make a difference.
A soulful music performance (Brahmam Okkate) followed the speeches, which further underscored the theme of unity and peace. The assembly concluded with a fun and engaging quiz conducted by the quiz masters. The students were tested on their knowledge in related topics, adding an interactive element to the assembly.
The assembly was a powerful reminder that we are all part of one family, and it is through love, respect, and cooperation that we can create a more harmonious world.
